I had a really nice Hove session this afternoon. I knew KS was there early, but held off and achieved some work before bolting to the beach at 3:30pm to join the King. Bonus to find Bill and Tim already there. 5m Ezzy on little wave board was alright for blasting, but the slight bit of offshore meant that there was a lack of oomph on the inside where the dinky waves were appearing. As usual at that spot, a long wave ride is only possible if you can keep joining a succession of peaks that have slight downwind angle to them rather than straight at the beach. Without a bit of float this is very hard in small waves so I switched to the freestyle board with a bit more success if not exactly stylish.

Although it was a bit light at times and sets were infrequent, you could still feel the potential and its rare for us to even get a sniff of cross off conditions. The extra wind that is funnelled along the trough is my favourite bit and you just knew that that wind direction with a chest high swell would have been unbelievable. . It was a surprisingly upbeat atmosphere given it was the day after the day before. More like this please.
